It has been a very long time since I last featured a figure review here, mainly because of reasons I stated before – a slowly fizzling passion in the figure collection scene, the lack of a good camera, and the lack of motivation to bother with organizing figure photoshoots. Nevertheless, I did have in mind a few figures which could not be brought out into the great outdoors to be photographed due to their fragility or rarity – Senhime here is one of them. Done by E2046’s Gathering team, I am not sure if she actually is a recast, but she was among the figures that tempted me the most when I first browsed through E2046’s catalog back then.

Today, or rather, yesterday by now, the Miyazawa Models Expo 2008 Fall was held, featuring models and figures that have just been released recently, are about to be released, or will be in the future. For the full coverage of pictures, you may head over to AkibaHobby’s coverage (three pages worth) and Moeyo’s (info of Moeyo’s thanks to Wcloudxkumo). I will only talk here about the figures that I am interested in, have ordered/preordered and stuff. No I am not interested in the above picture, I just thought this was cute and nice to use as a cover image.

We made our way back to the benches where the rest were waiting. I was not particularly in a hurry, though I did walk with quite a pace, while Blanc Neige practically took a stroll. No doubt this would have made Elwing more upset had she seen us taking our time, but as it was, we arrived in good time.

I did not really want to write an introduction for the Figurative Story posts but I realized that I left out an important part in the previous post mentioning the narrative-based shoots – the appreciation part. How could I forget something as important as that? This post, and the three coming ones, could not have been possible without the great help of Wcloudxkumo, who provided his knowledge and camera help; Squee, for his camera and also help with the shooting of the figures; Justin for his expertise in photoshoots and his shots during the Fantasy theme shoot, and finally the other members of Team Blue (and anyone else) who joined us in those gatherings and shoots.
I am no longer able to write narratives as well as I used to, and any image that looks bad can be attributed to my poor Photoshop skills and not to any of the above-mentioned people. After the jump, it is all about the narrative, and I will no longer do introductions for the other posts. Also, I am continuing directly from the narrative in Blanc Neige’s shoot, which is linked at the end of this post.
Cheers, I hope this will be of great interest to figure collectors around the world. All pictures in this post were taken at the Japanese Garden locally, and the only camera used was the Nikon D40.
So today, we look at the Kotobukiya and Megahouse exhibits that were at Wonfes. Now before I continue, a small update on the exam I took today – apparently I only really had to like, study 2 chapters in-depth, instead of taking on 16. So I basically screwed myself up trying to jam 16 chapters. But luckily, I only skimmed through the first 14…and in fact the first two were unimportant. Bweh. The exam is over. I expect to fail. End.
