Fairy with Headphones

And though I had hoped to be able to finish this series before the end of 2009, it appears that a few other things had my attention and that this will likely be reduced to a weekly thing. That might not be a bad idea considering that I also have the 2009 in Retrospect series to do and can thus devote just one part of my time per week to have something consistent for a while. Anyway, here are the ED theme songs that caught my attention in 2008 and also the best of them, completing a 2-part series on theme songs, the first being on OP theme songs.

Coopa from the Tower of Druaga

And we come to the second last group of the huge first round of Saimoe, Group F. Saimoe is currently taking a break due to Comiket 76, and will resume in another two days’ time as of this post.

Shishidou Takane from Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo

And here are the listings for Group B of the current running Saimoe tournament. I had no idea they now have an unofficial site for it, which you can probably check there periodically for updates. I have no idea how fast they update the results though. Anyway, on to Group B’s predictions and stuff. Again, this is subjective to debate and my predictions are likely to be wholly inaccurate due to bias. Click to enlarge the images.

Holding Melon in Waves

Welcome to the first part of the Anime section of the 2008 in Retrospect series. You may find the other posts in this particular series via the tag available in the Meta dropdown box at the bottom of this post. As of this point though, the other posts are (obviously) not yet up. This first part deals with the series that I watched since spring 2007 to spring 2008. All ratings are arbitrarily assigned at the time I finished them and I follow the same ratings that I use for them on ANN.

Wut? This is a post! In case you had no idea, and actually, originally I had no idea too, Hobby Complex 05 just passed in Japan yesterday. There will be another this year, quite interestingly, maybe because of the lack of a Wonder Festival early next year in winter (February). This one that just passed must have been really interesting for Nanoha fans, given the large amount of attention I saw in one particular blog given to Nanoha figures and other assorted figures (such as Figma) alone. But whatever, I will only focus on what I like or found interesting.
