In this next look at Wonfes I will like to point to Kotobukiya, a figure manufacturer which many probably know by now that I am no longer bothering with, and Orchid Seed, that ecchi-based figure company that seems to consistently pump out more than it can actually produce. There are times when the best laid plans of mice and men fall short, and these two companies have demonstrated that amply in the realm of figure production.

Because I cry, The Koromo does as well… (and not just because Saki’s done)
Before I go into my routine inspection of this month’s admittedly exciting releases (September was so boring wasn’t it? *prepares for GSC Saber Lily retards’ attack*), I’d just like to give some attention to the very poor weather that’s hit our failed country these past few days. Some gawd awful typhoon just released its load (sexual pun unintended) on our failed nation causing massive flooding on most places (think of an entire house floor underwater…) and extreme loss of life, equivalent to a thousand St. Yuukis on one area, of course without the annoyance. I guess what I’m trying to say is that life’s too short and we should live it to the fullest (goodness, it took one paragraph to say that one sentence? I am epic). And so moving on… (before I proclaim more Saber-hate)
I realize that I had not done one of these for a very long time. Really, I saw no need – I had like one preorder per month or something, sometimes not even any for a certain month. I am trying to put off buying figures now, they really are no longer quite the passion I once saw them as. But then again, there are figures that still make me burn to want to have them, notably Volks’ KOS-MOS Ver. 4 (above), though that is way over my head in the financial area. There are still others though, and since I want to let Ruri’s post get a day or two up there while I set up the fall preview post, I decided to make this a slight filler post for all. All pictures in this post are thanks to HobbySearch unless otherwise stated.
1/8 Kotobukiya Mio Akiyama
Yeah, I’d like to thank Kumo’s blog for… interrupting my philosophizing session and oh, probably allocating my kidney for future sale right now…
Yes, you read that right. KOTOBUKIYA MIO AKIYAMA. Granted that I’m not the biggest Kotobukiya fan because Alter is king and I am Alter’s everlasting S&M slave, this is still K-ON! and when there’s K-ON!, nothing and no one can hide from the subsequent release of fangasmic words from yours truly. K-ON! the next Haruhi? No. IT’S WAAAAY BETTER THAN ENDLESS HATE HARUHI (go on Haruhi-tards, flame me) and I shall never cease to spread the gospel of shimapan, Gitah-moe and neko lolis. So on to the sculpt…

I always preferred doing Wonder Festival coverage a little later than the others, and I thought, after the discussion I held with both YuKi-To and Lelouch, that YuKi-To will do it on the day itself (he said he had no time to do on other days), and that Lelouch will (most likely) follow up the next two days. Guess not. So I delayed my coverage until I had information from the usual sources (and better pictures). Unlike their complete coverage I will only prefer touching on figures that I like, and a few others that I am not interested in but felt like commenting upon. Today’s coverage is a little wordplay, covering the figures out from Kotobukiya and Native. The last part, also done by me, will cover Alter, Orchid Seed and Volks.
