Senhime Cover

It has been a very long time since I last featured a figure review here, mainly because of reasons I stated before – a slowly fizzling passion in the figure collection scene, the lack of a good camera, and the lack of motivation to bother with organizing figure photoshoots. Nevertheless, I did have in mind a few figures which could not be brought out into the great outdoors to be photographed due to their fragility or rarity – Senhime here is one of them. Done by E2046’s Gathering team, I am not sure if she actually is a recast, but she was among the figures that tempted me the most when I first browsed through E2046’s catalog back then.

No, it does not mean that I have managed to get 200+ figures or whatever. Most of you who follow this blog also know that I hardly bother posting about loot or arrivals, I get too little of those nowadays, and I hardly have a decent camera (no idea where the compacts went). Still, this time, it is an exception.

Picture thanks to Exelica Metor.

For quite some time now, this blog has actually been tending more towards anime than what most people originally thought it would be more about – figures. Though I posted one or two (and so did guest writer YuKi-To) updates or posts about figures, most of the recent and even the planned posts that are coming up have been or will be about anime.

That is to say, until my Feedreader finally got off its lazy ass and updated with this stunning photo review of Dip Mou (Die 2nd tone, Wu 3rd tone in Chinese, I believe Dip Mou is the Cantonese transliteration because it got me stumped for a long time) by James from Exelica Meteor. And in turn, that has led me to two other figures that, besides Die Wu (which means Butterfly Dance), I would like to look at in this post.

As we knew from the previous post regarding Hobby Complex, there were to be 2 this year, and the 2nd has just gone by yesterday. This is the somewhat preliminary coverage of the event, since there is expected to be more, but I am not going to bother making more posts for it. Instead, you can thank AkibaHobby’s coverage and Moeyo’s coverage for the pictures below, as well as Ken Lee. View their coverage for more pictures, I will only talk about what I am interested in, as usual. Thanks to NanoPulp for identifying the cat above as a Felyne Hunter from Monster Hunter 2nd Portable G. I thought it would be cute to use as a starter image.

As you might have realized, last 3 days or so, I posted nothing but Saimoe results. Anyone talking to me in IRC would have known though as to the reason why. I started feeling squeamish on Tuesday night, but put off visiting the doctor since it felt like a general weakening of the body which I am quite familiar with, usually the onset of a viral attack or some illness. So I put it off until Thursday when I realized I could not identify the problem. And of all diagnoses I did not expect that she would tell me my body was finally done with the stress I have been giving it in terms of physical exercise as well as lack of sleep. Great, huh?
