Here, I talk about the categories I will use to order my posts into. Two of them are monthly features on this blog and have their own pages, that of the Girl of the Month and the Figure of the Month. You can take a look at their separate pages as they will not be outlined here.

I will go through the categories in alphabetical order.

Anime
Anything related to anime, whether a series I picked up, or want to talk about, or even anime-related stuff, will be under this category. Though for individual episodes of series, there are people who can do those far better than I can, I have finally decided to do episodic reviews and summaries of certain series at times. So there are those that have their own categories for the ones I follow episodically. The following are links directly to the categories of the anime series I or a guest writer have written, or are writing about.

Asu no Yoichi! (completed)
Kaiba (stalled)
Kemono no Souja Erin (on-going)
Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo (collaboration with Chong Mizunaga and Yamcha; completed)
Bakemonogatari (on-going)
Princess Lover! (completed)
Tokyo Magnitude 8.0 (completed)

News pertaining to anime series or companies are also included here. In short, this is the very general category of “anime” as well.

Articles and Essays
Articles or essays I deem interesting or have written myself will be put up here. Note that they usually come with some other category so you know what the article/essay is about, such as philosophy, or something written up for the anime community, for example.

Bikes
Really self-explanatory, but anyway, this part contains posts on motorcycles or riding experiences that I have while on the road. So do not be surprised if one day you see a post that talks about a riding experience and is placed under this category. The bike, and riding one, is all part of being a biker, after all.

Blog Tech
Unlike what you think, the “tech” here stands for “technical”, in the form of “technical support”. So Blog Tech is a category for posts, like this one, dealing with the blog related stuff in general. Layout changes, feature changes, plugin additions, etc., are categorized under this one. Generally, minor updates are posted in the updates section in the sidebar, and only major or aggregated blog changes or news will be posted as posts under this category.

This category also sees new guest writers’ introductions in it.

Cosplay
This category includes events I have covered that also have cosplay or cosplay competitions in them. I will generally not blog on cosplay, but where there are events that I cover that included cosplay, or articles and the like, I will post them under this category. It may also see individual posts on cosplay by the various guest writers.

Events
Events include major events that I have covered. This is really self-explanatory, and is usually reserved for my personal reviews of events, or aftermath of said events. Events also include conventions elsewhere in the world for games or anime that I am interested in.

Featured
Unlike the Special Features category below, this one was created solely for the purpose of the new Featured Posts section. Any and all posts that are going to be featured will now be placed under this category.

Figures
Anything that pertains to figures comes here. I do mean anything. There are posts that also talk about me getting a figure, or having a figure arrive, or news of a new figure, a figure being up for pre-order, etc. In short, any post that deals exclusively with figures will have this label in it.

The only major figure event that I keep track of in Japan is Wonder Festival, a bi-annual (means it occurs twice a year) event that is arguably the largest event for figures and the like in Japan. Posts that deal with merchandise and goods from Wonder Festival, as well as any feature on it, will be placed in the sub-category “Wonder Festival” under Figures.

Another sub-category here is for the “Dollfies”. Since they are technically still figures, they have been placed under this main category.

Gaming
I am quite the avid gamer as I have mentioned, so obviously, news of the gaming world interests me very much. I also talk otherwise about games I am playing or have played. The gaming community’s articles also will be under this category alongside “Articles and Essays”. Whether a serious or casual gamer, there are always such articles for your perusal that I feel you need to know about or at least take a look. Games are after all very much part of our lives nowadays…at least, I believe it to be so for most of us.

Guides
These are guides I have written for use by anyone. They all represent my personal opinion, so follow the guides at your own risk. I never do up any guides anymore though.

La Tendo
I have stopped posting regularly on La Tendo’s newsletters. However for all previous posts pertaining exclusively to La Tendo’s preorders and arrivals, I have decided to retain them just for reference, and all are now listed under this category.

Life
The largest and broadest category of all, this label is applied to any post that I write about my daily life or happenings. It may be applied in the future to news items that I feel I need to let others know, that do not fit into any of the other current categories. You can also consider it the “miscellaneous” category.

Manga
A category for manga series that may be covered by either myself (though not usually) or the guest writers, it also includes posts on occasional chapters in manga series that I am following.

Military Philosophy
I rarely talk here about military philosophy, but when I do, it will be placed under this category.

Monthly Summary
This category is largely for the monthly summaries and monthly previews I write up for the current month and the next month respectively. These ones gather the most important and significant posts, and sum it all up for you in one post for the month. Use these to navigate monthly articles and features, as well as peruse in a glance the more significant posts of the month, though take note that it was only started in April 2008. The monthly summary category was closed for good since February 2009.

Multimedia
I am fully a newbie to the graphics arena, either in digital or photography. I only finally picked up both thanks to figures, and also because I grew tired of having to keep asking others to help me make pictures. It was about time I do something for myself. However I do require help from others who are far more well-versed than me in such arts, so any advice when it comes to this upcoming category will be appreciated.

I also have dabbled in video editing and encoding, and sometimes, there are videos I would like to notify others of. So anything to do with digital imagery, graphics, videos, things I have done, etc, will be under this category. Broad and wide, but at least better than having to come up with separate categories for graphics, videos and such since I am not a full-time maker of such stuff.

Music
Posts that deal with music, such as artistes or songs I want to let others know about are under this tag. Sometimes, a post that tells of an earworm that keeps going on in my head will also have this label. Impressions of music and songs, singles and albums, either by myself or the guest writers, are also included in this category.

Philosophy
Posts that deal with philosophical issues in general, and articles and essays that also are of such a nature, will be labeled with this tag. Currently rather small in number, I hope to increase the posts that I do on philosophical issues in the near future. Posts in this category are also sometimes of other disciplines, such as sociology and psychology.

Saimoe
For all posts regarding Saimoe, that international 2D female tournament that can be quite laughable at times. In 2008 I followed the results faithfully and all the posts dedicated to it are under the “Saimoe 2008″ category. Any other posts I made for the subsequent years’ tournaments will be placed under their own year’s sub-categories.

Seiyuu
I do blog on seiyuu at times since they are the ones who do make anime characters the lovable or hated life-like people we know as.

Song of the Week
This feature is used to talk about a particular song I wish others to know about, especially its lyrics and deeper meanings (if any). The Song of the Week feature is no longer updated regularly. I may still post on songs for this category from time to time.

Special Feature
Stuff there were deemed special features were placed under this category. However even before the addition of the “Featured” category above, this feature was already seeing a decline. This category only serves as an archive now for older posts under it, and is no longer updated.
