This has got to be the most awesome, lulziest, and funniest episode of Princess Lover by far. Look I know it was an obligatory fanservice episode for such a harem series, but LOL the way they did it was just way too good. Large post incoming thanks to that, full of screenshots and other lulz.

Nanoha, in my Princess Lover? It’s more likely than you think. I was all WTF at this part, did not believe it was Nanoha though I read Kurogane’s post first, then the wings came out and that big sword. Oh god.

So in the flashback, we are informed that Teppei’s great idea for a party was actually a trip to the onsen (hot springs). They will also be taking a train to get there…a public one.

Naturally, Charlotte and Silvia are terrified of passing through the automatic gates into a sea of people, and want to find out the timing for the gates. I lol’ed at this part when Yuu gave the plausible explanation.

F-F-F-FAAAAABULOUS! Yeah what? Did you have to be so shiny and faaabulous to go through a gate in style? Only Seika is obviously capable of such feats.

I am pretty sure there is a parody here but since I could not really catch what Mezu was saying, I need to wait for the subs. Maybe one of you can fill me in.

Seriously, I would have instantly said that Mezu is definitely gay, except that he also clearly has tendencies for the female side, as was exposed in the last episode. Thus, Mezu is not homosexual, but bisexual. Seems right up Shin’s alley.

Lol @ the characters looking at the opening title animation, and also Mezu and Teppei talking to the audience in general. Quite an interesting thing that was unexpected out of this show, considering that usually harem types do not have such scenes.

I know there are people who would gladly allow Yuu to follow them to their room, but obviously Teppei is having none of it and asks her to go to the females’ room. Yuu is of course embarrassed and shy about sharing a room with higher-classed females than herself, but Teppei makes it almost an order and she has no choice in the matter. Teppei’s motive though is something else entirely.

And so the conspiracy begins. There can be no other plan for males at an onsen with female friends on the trip with them, than to of course, do “that”. Also, who the hell are those two unknowns popping out of nowhere? More on this later.

I HNNNNNNNNNGGGGGHHHHH’ed. Also this picture looks a little similar, in concept, the reverse of the original cover of the eroge.

Viva, are! Viva, Lucky Sukebe! If there is one thing I learned for sure today watching this,  it is “Viva Lucky Sukebe”. By the way, what show is this a parody of, Yakitake!! Japan?

So Seika was saying that if Teppei and the rest peeked in, they should do something. Silvia’s answer is still the best, “Zansatsu”. OMG awesome total annihilation. And she is also asked if she brings that around with her everywhere, and yes, she does indeed. Evil Saber Silvia is evil.

And Yuu panicks upon being mentioned, though obviously it was not Silvia’s sword that scared her but being put in the same room as the other females. Charlotte’s asking Yuu to come though was funny, but Yuu’s panic was even funnier. I am pretty sure Matsuoka Yuki had a lot of practice doing such noises as the totally useless Inoue Orihime in Bleach anyway.

“Naze da!?” OH GOD LOL. IT IS COMMON SENSE THAT WE DO NOT BRING SWORDS AND WEAPONS INTO BATHS, SILVIA.

This censorship. I RAGED. Blatant misuse of censorship in order to ask people to buy the freaking DVD releases. YA WHAT? I DO WANT TO SEE THOSE NAKED BODIES THOUGH.

MOU IKKAI! SABER SILVIA IS AWESOME.

AND NOW THIS PART WAS JUST AWESOME. NAMELESS 02 STATES THAT, AS HE HAS NO NAME AND CAME IN RANDOMLY, IT IS QUITE LIKELY THAT HE WILL BE THE NEXT CASUALTY, YES? AND TEPPEI AGREES. OH GOD LOL

When the fog grows thicker, you know you are near your doom.

And Nameless 02 realizes this is where he gets eliminated, and smiles.

Problem – there is only one person left. Yet there is no choice for Teppei but to move onward, even if it is towards his own doom.

Group shot of the four main females, as Charlotte points out a shooting star. They soon find another one however…

…whose name is Arima Teppei. In this shot he is wearing sunglasses and some attire, am I right in guessing this is, again, another parody?

The unlucky sukebe lot. I am pretty sure that bear means something, but definitely not pedobear of course.

The males are taken to task by Seika, Silvia, Erika and Ayano, but notice Charlotte’s happy expression in the background. Why this girl so awesome? Also Yuu is quiet…but not because of what you think…

…she just said she would be fine with showing Teppei her nekkid body if only Teppei asked…I know a few people would be nosebleeding over this.

Lol I should thank previous anime watching for understanding this scene, specifically the same misconception happened in Kaze no Stigma. To explain, the Japanese words/pronunciation for “engaged” (fiance/fiancee) and “mixed bath” (at an onsen) are the same, “konyaku”, and so when Charlotte says ‘that is just like a konyaku”, she meant “mixed bath”, but Seika took it to mean “being engaged” and of course got all embarrassed and bothered about it.

Do not mess with angry Seika. Oh, and when they pan to her face right after this, she kept going “Hora. Hora. Hora.” I am sorry girls but the first thing that came into my mind was sexual innuendo. You know, Japanese porn.

Ok I can understand if the rich do not know what table tennis (or also known as ping pong) is, but WTF, did they have to clap for Seika like that? Also, Phoenix Wright pose detected.

“Shoumin” (commoner) table tennis – to cheat in the game by diverting your opponent’s attention elsewhere. In this case, Teppei uses Vincent as an excuse to get his shot in as he is sure of losing to Silvia anyway in a straight-up match.

Silvia of course steps up to the challenge and seemingly unlocks everything on her and bares quite a bit more of herself, not consciously aware of the effect she has on the males…

Nor would any male in his right mind want to stop her…

Lulz obviously they mixed up juice with alcoholic and Seika cannot take alcohol, it seems.

This proves it – Teppei is actually also bisexual. He wanted to embrace Mezu!

The four girls then have a little chat after Ayano and Erika go to sleep, and they also confirm that Yuu would do what she said earlier about showing her nekkid body. This conversation was pretty fine, though it probably had a slightly deeper meaning – the story will take a turn after this episode, since they were mentioning how nice it would be if things remained like this.

And the 4 main girls of the show smile for the camera.

Impressions

Quite obviously there was hardly any plot advancement this episode, but for a fanservice episode it sure did well with all the funny stuff. They also made no attempt to hide Teppei’s perverted side, which is a good thing. It was especially good how they brought in the nameless and made one of them recognize he would definitely be gone.
 

Of course, the censorship (or blatant lack of effort in it) sucked a lot. But hey, no one can deny it could have been a good DVD tactic…if not for the lack of effort. Also, lots of love for the four main girls in this episode indeed, so everyone got a piece of what they wanted in terms of fanservice. Other than that though, the advancement was largely in the four girls’ interactions with one another and their agreement in all of them liking Teppei to some extent.
 

The preview for next week shows the appearance of what is possibly Charlotte’s fiance, so that kind of explains her downcast side in episode 5. I hope this makes Teppei buck up or go to Silvia for the final ending. For a harem series, the number of endings is always the same in terms of the cliche ones; I suppose the route this particular series will go in getting there though is what should prove interesting down the road. Also, most awesome episode of the week belongs to this one, hands down.
