Get The Door [SINGLE] by Oohashi Rie
Delayed for weeks, I bring you the opening theme of Queen’s Blade -Rurou no Senshi- which aired along with the others in Spring 2009. It is sung by Oohashi Rie who seems to have only performed one song so far.

01 Yes, the SINGLE only contains one song with its original karaoke version. Being given the task to write about this song of an anime which I have not seen, I didn’t know what to expect from Get The Door.
At first, I couldn’t quite get myself used to the vocal at certain parts, but after giving the full song another try, I thought it fitted quite well with the melody and rhythm. If you listen to it carefully, you can hear some fine guitar in the background. A very nice set of traditional instruments and violin are played throughout the song, and if I am not mistaken, there are a few parts with soft techno effects. My favourite parts would be those with drums which sound like those used in wars. The vocal isn’t bad though there were some failed attempts at high-pitches; they are still within the bearable range and is not heard often.
02 The original karaoke version is worth trying out too. The above average background is clear and enjoyable, portraying the same energy and vigour as the one with vocal. As a person who enjoys the instrumentals of most songs, I would give the same scores for both the vocal and the original karaoke version.
Overall, I would suggest Get The Door to fans of almost-mainstream Pop and to those who want something between ligh-hearted and heavy. Do try out the original karaoke too, when you have the time. ^^

The song fits perfectly with the anime, if I must say :D I’m on a Queen’s Blade high right now so I find myself listening to this song quite often nowadays. Though I do think that the ending theme is more enjoyable (at least in my opinion) :)

Get The Door is surprisingly way better than the anime it is used for. There have been shows where the OP is out of the show’s league though, and Oohashi Rie has done quite well in this area, though above all, rated against a whole spectrum of songs, Get the Door ranks somewhat above average at best for me.

Hehehe, is it? Hmm, then I might try and listen to the ED then. ^^. Btw, what do you like of Queen’s Blade? I heard a lot of bad comments about it, so I am curious to know which other aspects do people like about it, heh.

Hahaha, agreed; some OPs don’t do justice for animes. Yeah, her rather deep voice was quite suiting to the background to me, and I too would rate it above average. :)
The instrumental version is also quite good~
@Kona Well most people hate it for the lack of a real story, but really, in my opinion, you don’t watch soft hentai anime for a story anyway, so I don’t know why people hate it so much. I’d be the first to admit I watch it for the oppai exposure, but also as a stress reliever. I guess it’s just a matter of perspective.
