I am sure some of you, upon seeing this title, must think there is a mistake somewhere, or perhaps, that this was written by a female writer. Unfortunately (or fortunately for some) for you, no! This is really being written by yours truly!
Since young I had an intense dislike for dolls. You may attribute this to a few horror doll movies (not Chucky, I stayed way clear of him) in my childhood. Further, dolls are too lifelike for my taste. Imagine waking up in the morning to a doll with those eyes, staring you in the face. I would have a cardiac arrest, probably.
But I have been informed recently, largely through DC.com, about a relatively recent line of dolls, known as the dollfies. These dolls are more towards the anime type of characters we are more used to, except in a rather lifelike manner as well. These dolls are acceptable for me, and thus I have been thinking of obtaining one. The problem is of course the expense associated with one. But, I am entitled to wish and plan for one, am I not? Plus, I doubt I will want to get more than one of these, the upkeep is more expensive than a figure as well as more tedious.
Anyway DC recently posted an aggregate resource about finding out about dollfies, but I am not really interested in going to these sites as I am really behind in studies and also in blog posting, among other things. Thus, if any of you can provide further information about the dolls taken from his post seen below, it will be much appreciated.

The dollfie on the right was the first in the pictures at DC’s post which I was immediately interested in. Sadly, according to Aquilla, she is a limited version of Kanu Uncho from the series Ikkitousen, and can no longer be found first-hand. That sucks. :( Anyone want to tell me if they are selling theirs? Heh.

So with that disappointment I took another look at the other dollfies, and this one caught my attention. I know that the body parts and the hair can be swapped (this is IIRC so I might be wrong), so the face (and the body since the body would be too expensive to buy another one of) is the most important part of the dollfie. This one looks just like one I would want. Is she the same doll as the one in the top picture? Can anyone identify this girl?

Finally, the girl on the right looks rather lolified, and yes I know her bust area is not as big, but still within acceptable range for me. Pretty nice dollfie look for her, I am sure most of you would think this size of her chest rather acceptable as well. So who is she?
I have also looked around for other dollfies, but these are the ones so far that I rather prefer. Any information on them and their official sites will be appreciated. Only Volks is doing the kind of dollfie line I want, it seems, but I may be wrong and there are other dollfie companies out there I just have no idea about.

Hmm… I did google around, but no good results :(
Btw, Danny’s post about Dolfie is very poisonous, you looked at them too much.

@Deathseeker: LOL, mark this post. Just as DC sparked the popularity of PVC figures, the Dolfies will probably represent the next trend in otaku collectibles. Pretty soon, every otaku will have one, lol. Nothing wrong with that. Just prepare for your wallets to take a hit… And I thought figures were expensive, lol. Let alone the wardrobes and interchangeable accessories. Ah, don’t forget the outdoor photoshoots. Whew, glad I escaped in time. Good luck, dude. ^_^;

There are pretty much out of the question for me due to the price. While I can plan for one in the future, I get the feeling I will be over it when I have enough money to afford one.
I wonder what Danny gonna try and poison us next huh?

My wife and I have been interested in dollfies lately also, but we are also not informed enough to venture into the purchasing side of things. These are all nice looking dollfies, I wouldn’t mind the Kanu one myself.

Blowfish: It is one hell of a lot. I remember I saw the cheapest price at 39,900 Yen or so. That is one set, including the full doll and her parts, and some accessories.
Divine Fang: It must be the damned eyes. No, not the dirty kind. Wait, maybe both.
Shin: Non.
Jayman: Stop reminding me. >_< But in any case, that is why I said I will only have one, if I ever do get one. The expenses and upkeep will be seriously hideous without a stable paycheck...and one that pays at least decently at that. :(
Optic: It will be good for you to get over it by the time you have the monies. Then you can do better things with the monies you have.
Persocom: Well I do have Chun as a resource to ask in this area, but then again, first of all I probably should come up with financial means to own one, and perhaps a cheaper way to get one than having to import it from Japan. >_<
Dollfies are expensive to own. Are you sure that you are ready for it? I myself dislike doll at a young age same reason that you have but grown to like figure and nendoroid. I will put off the dollfies first since I’m still a student and don’t have an income source.
The last photo is kind of awkard, because you can see the joints and stuff.
Yeah, I heard this is a new trend. I once visited a friend’s place (Adun). He had a Dolfie. They sure are expensive!

Only kawaii Dolfie please. Actually, i still like mama chapp better.
Tommy: Yes, as I mentioned several times now they are freaking expensive. Like you I am a student and only have an allowance, which is why I said, it is on my wishlist, though it does not hurt to start planning or wishing for one.
M12: I guess the joints will be something you get used to once you have one. And yes Adun just told me on Twitter about the beauty of having one lol.
Chappy: I dislike any others because they all give me a creepy feeling except the dollfie ones that look like they are actually anime characters brought to life. I suppose Mama Chapp will be more liked by females, but then again Squee likes them too. >_<
Phossil: Yes. Nice big eyes…wait, I see what you did thar. :p
BIG eyes!! BIG smiles!!.. >_<
The reason why this stuff sells is because it’s still plastic! We love crude oil.
I hate dolls.
