Greeting every one, I’m Tourak and I’ll be a new writer on Panther blog.  I’m kind of  new to blogging, I was interested in starting my own blog but wasn’t too much sure about it. When I talked to Panther about this, he offered me to become a writer on his blog which would give me a chance at trying to blog and see how I would enjoy it.

Well now, I think I should talk a little more about myself. Like the title say,  I’m a French Canadian and more precisely, I’m from Quebec. I was born in 1984(this will remain constant no matter how far in the future some one come back reading this page, unlike saying my age. lol ) and I’m currently a student of  Software Engineering. Unlike some other, I don’t really consider myself an Otaku, I consider myself to be more of a geek and my Otaku side an extension of my geekness.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been watching anime but I weren’t always aware of it. When I was really young, I’ve watched anime like The Tree Musketeer anime, The Rose of Versailles and one that truly had a deep impact on me The Mysterious Cities of Gold. Then when I got a little older, around middle elementary school, I was watching anime like Dragon Ball(not to be confused with DBZ) and Sailor Moon. But those aren’t the series that really got me into anime. Around 10 or 11 years ago, I found 2 anime series that really got me into anime and that even up to this days I consider among the best ever done. Those 2 anime series are The Record of Lodoss War and Slayers.

Finally, I will blog about a few subjects. From time to time I might do post about music, but unlike others here, while I do enjoy listening to anime music, I’m not that much into jpop. My true passion when it come to music is Metal. I might be able to actually allow some of you to discover the style and get some of you to get over your prejudice of the style and actually learn what Metal is all about, Detroit Metal City isn’t all there is to metal. :P

Next, something that I recently but quickly got into: Figure. I got my first figure about a year and a half ago. Actually, I can’t say I got a single figure first since I got 2 and they were Saber and Rin from F/S Night. Some time before I bought the figure, I had played to Tsukihime and watched/played through the first path of F/S Night. Since then, I’ve been a Type-Moon fan and decided Saber and Rin would be my first figure. I was at a con when I got them and bought later that week end a Shana figure too, but those were supposed to be the only one I was going to get. I’m aware of how some doesn’t like Danny Choo, but like they say  “Give to Caesar what belong to Caesar”. I eventually found Danny blog and started reading it and after some time I was addicted to Figure. Now I have a respectable sized collection, if any one is curious about what I own, you can just look me up on Tsuki-Board. I’m also using Tourak as my alias there.

Lastly, without surprise I might blog about anime and manga, but I will also blog about gaming. Like I said earlier, I’m more of a geek then an otaku, so for me gaming will not only include video game but will also include pen and paper role playing game(pnp rpg for short) for those wondering pnp rpg are game like Dungeons and Dragons(DnD or D&D for short). I’ve started playing to pnp rpg even before I’ve started watching anime, that would be about 12~13 years ago. I’ve started with Advance Dungeons and Dragons and since then I’ve played to a bunch of other pnp rpg. I’ve also played for a long time to collectible card game(ccg for short) started with Magic: The Gathering about 15 years ago but I’ve stopped playing to Magic since then. I did play to many others ccg but currently I’m playing to none. I think my figure hobby took the place of ccg for me, but I never know, might find a new one that I will enjoy one day or with a player base. So for me, gaming is rather broad.

And you thought D&D taught me nothing useful?

So, this should do as my introductory post.  Sorry, if it felt too long. As a consolation for getting this far, here’s a picture of my favorite maids twin Kohaku and Hisui from Tsukihime.

PS: I own none of the picture. All right to their respective owner.
