LEOPARD MAE
I just happened to check my GoStats for fun this night and came across something weird in my referrers’ section - apparently AnimeSuki’s forums are referring people to my blog. I wondered at this, and checked the history of the past few days, and found out it was only yesterday that it started referring to me. So that narrows things down a lot, and I finally found my link…in none other than the thread on Sorakake.
Let us be more precise. This post by Kaioshin is the one in which my link appears in, along with Impz’s impressions of Sorakake. That post by itself hardly says much, but then we come to this post by Matrim.
I don’t get the bashing of the story - how hard it is to see that it wasn’t exactly serious, to put it quite mildly? And it didn’t seem like unintetional comedy either. Also, “unneeded fanserive”? Is there any other kind of fanservice?
And then we see the reply a little while later by Kaioshin again.
Well all you really need to know is that THAT has a stunning tendency to either miss or overstate the obvious. More importantly though I think it’s safe to say that if you are a blogger who is non-fluent in Japanese and yet decide to watch something RAW anyway only to end up finding yourself wondering why none of the story makes any sense to you whatsoever then you need to step back and really think about whether you’re really cut out for the whole first impression gig.
Ok, now whether or not Impz or T.H.A.T Anime Blog specifically misses or overstates the obvious is something that is not right for me to talk about - I hardly have that much acquaintance or bother too much with anime episodics. But I know you would probably hardly follow my blog Kaioshin, and you probably found my post via Anime Nano, so granted that you have no idea whether or not I was jumping on the bandwagon or bashing the story, I suppose I should set things right about the second part that you are talking about, in case it was also being applied to me.

You are right that I am non-fluent in Japanese, but eh, in case you were also applying the whole “wondering why none of story made any sense” to me, I am sorry, you are wrong there. I understood the story fine enough, both from contextual clues, and from almost understanding the entire raw. It was more the feeling as I mentioned (read my exact words back in the original post) that put me off initially. I did say that later, Leopard made the show very watchable and humorous.
Further, the plot, as I mentioned at the end, was fine, I liked it as a first impression because it promised more, not a whole lot more, but decent enough, like I said. So eh, you are wrong on that count too. Besides, as a blogger, I have the right to blog on whatever I want. Being a critic of my work is fine, but being a critic of my posts without knowing prior my history - ie. I never bother with anime episodics I just write what I felt and also mentioned certainly that it was all my own opinion, I have no formal training in Japanese, please note that I am implicitly stating this is all my own opinion and you are liable to think of it what you wish - is something that does not sit too well with me. :)

I also heard Impz say that you were a fanboy of something or other, I think it was Sunrise. Now I am not going to apply this to you, I do not know you personally or even your blog to even know if that has an inkling of truth in it, but I would appreciate if you did the same and not generalize without first knowing the background. Of course, if you were referring to his post and his view on things, I apologize for me generalizing your statement to include me, since you likely have read THAT way way long ago than I have.
I am not too much into watching anime too seriously or having to tear them apart, I tend to like to just enjoy my anime. For Sorakake though, the show screams out “Make fun of me!” in certain small ways, enough for me to want to do this almost every time, but not necessarily in a bad way. I rather just allow people to see a humorous side of the show as presented by me and they are free to think if it is good or bad, and if the original is good or bad. Me, I think Sorakake, like I said, was decent enough, and watchable, and I would continue, probably finishing it.
Oh and finally I am amused by all this, Kaioshin. Thanks for the hits from AnimeSuki. :) Oh as for the title, it was for fun. I mean, yeah, it seemed a good way to get people to read this lol. No offence!

I was hoping for something more tragic XD
What is a blog?!?! =o

For a moment, I thought it was far worst than this. lol
Hmmm…. I wonder what happened to the days where we all just get together and enjoy anime and stop being so picky about it. -_-

Kaioshin has always been a very outspoken individual and he sometimes say things without having a thorough knowledge of the situation. Not to say he’s a bad person, but I usually take what he says with a grain of salt.
So if I start bashing you more often will your e-peen become unusable and your harem will be given to me?
[delurk] I read your initial impressions of SoraKake Girl 01, and I don’t mean to insult you so sorry if it comes off that way, but I don’t think anything you said in that post was really about the story… It was purely reactionary: “[x] just happened and I think [y].” :S
m3rryweather: No, my harem remains with me. :p
Miasmacloud: That is probably precisely the point, the post was hardly about the plot, but since he decided to say that I had “a go at it”, and later insinuates that I was indeed bashing the plot (though it was more Matrim’s point there) I decided heck why not write about it and tell people what some folks think. Like I said this amused me and no you were not insulting me lol, I was expecting something far worse when I read your comment excerpt and only “nothing in the post was about the plot” came up. :\

Shin: DAMMIT
YOU GOT PUNK’D.
People who let their feathers get ruffled by blogs are just silly. It’s not like anime is serious business.

Lol, this part — “Oh and finally I am amused by all this, Kaioshin. Thanks for the hits from AnimeSuki. ” is funny. XD
I’ve been seeing quite a lot of things like this nowadays…but oh well, good thing you’re not affected by it (some people do).
P.S. I see some new headers! I like the Yoruichi one; the quality of the vector is nice~~~ :3

Dan: I have no idea who lol. I do not keep up with these things. But never mind.
Kona: That is not a vector, just a manual crop of the image. Those headers have been up for more than a week I believe.
