Ok, Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo gave me freaking mahou shoujo vibes from start to end. Think mahou shoujo with freaking science fiction and you can tell why I refuse to do episodics or even a summary, so let me bombard you with screenshots before my general impressions.

…that is actually piloted by a mahou shoujo sidekick WTF. “Little critters” are what I will use to refer to these from now on. Yes they are another race in the show.
Space travel route and the vehicle Akiha and I-mo escaped in, which can transform to go through space or on roads. Oh wait, I just realized, I-mo is also pronounced same as emo.
I have no idea what the heck these are, seems like some observation platform for students only. Earth in the distance, according to Akiha there is nothing there, and the whole planet is surrounded by debris. I also wonder how the hell they fail to notice debris flying past them when the shit hit the fan.
Kannagi Itsuki, supposedly another main character, voiced by Endou Aya. This is the second role I heard Endou in which she plays a serious character, the first being Blassreiter’s Mei Feng. She also voiced Matsu in Sekirei.
Experience in anime has taught us that local police are always dipshits when it comes to larger-than-life events. This show is no exception. Priceless expressions, you should have seen their mugs (which I refuse to search for to take a screenshot of).
No idea what this spaceship is called, they might have mentioned it but I would have no idea, this was taken right before the commercial break. A nice gigantic spaceship (I do mean huge here) appears out of nowhere causing a large disturbance in the ordered lives of these peace-loving space citizens…oh wait where have I heard that before? Right! In about 20 other anime series at least!
Prior to its airing, Sorakake’s Shishidou Akiha was announced at C75 to be slated for release by Good Smile Company. It is now quite obvious as to who is a sponsor of this show or at least affiliated when you see this picture. I bet there are other noted places or companies in there, but this was most blatant, I laughed immediately when I saw it. I would expect Nendoroids of Akiha or figures of other Sorakake characters soon. Maybe they might come up with LEOPARD (see below).

Mahou shoujo meets sci-fi robot pose. Awesome tea drinking experience indeed. Also yes, that is LEOPARD, voiced by gay Fukuyama Jun. Surprisingly, he is a highlight of the show, and quite well done this time round.
Experience has also taught us that a whole fleet of puny police vehicles do nothing to detract a gigantic ass spaceship from swatting all of them like flies…
…especially when it has such a big-ass cannon to boot. DOOMED, BIATCHES! ADIOS AMIGOS! And all that.
The competency of the police is now degraded to “shitting in our pants”.

I am sure some of you might somehow recognize this piece of debris thrown out when the spaceship warped to Earth. Any takers?
Also, let me say this clearly – this is the brokest spaceship I have seen in a while, like totally WTF.

According to ANN, this girl is Kawai Honoka, unknown nekomimi at this point in time. She looks suspiciously similar to Ao in Yozakura Quartet.
Well, other than the mahou shoujo vibes, LEOPARD made the second half of the show rather hilarious, and I like the QTM (I think it was QTM lol, or QTS) mecha design. Plus, this spaceship is really broke. A huge ass spaceship of this size should not be able to move at such speeds at all. Oh wait we are talking about anime physics.
Further, the story does have potential, not huge ones, but I want to know the story behind this spaceship, its arrival and existence, Honoka’s part in this, and Akiha’s mom (or guardian, whichever it was), and the nekomimi at the end.. So yeah, a few more episodes to see how it goes, even if it is by Sunrise. Broke spaceship is broke too, and I am a sucker for space. I will only follow subs from now on though.

Quazacolt: It depends I guess. Most people who look for decent plots in anime and not some almost nonsensical plot will probably skip this. And your avatar is chosen from a random pool of 50 or so, until you can get your own (totally different pool) after making 10 comments at least.

The CG looks very impressive. But hey, nowadays, that’s almost standard. It looks a bit generic, but I’ll see what happens. Yes, WTF at the “little critter” indeed!

Many many mixed feelings on whether i should pickup this series… plus side being sunrise (well gundam 00 was/is/stil awesome) and its like… lolspace with lotsa pew pew.

Serian: Sorry dude I do not bother helping people get subs or do stuff like that, I am sure if you wanted it you can find it yourself, there are sites that help you do that and sites that inform you when subs are out I presume, but I would not know.
