First of all, this post is posted exactly at 0000 hours Singapore time on the 1st of January of 2009. I just wanted to say, Happy New Year folks! Nothing much I wish to say that Ruri has not already covered in December’s monthly summary regarding what I will write about. The theme of the month will be Jaded January, which she already mentioned. Go find out what “jaded” means in a dictionary if you have no idea.

I have nothing planned for celebrating the start of 2009, quite frankly the number looks weird and bad to me lol. Like Ruri also mentioned, I will be doing a “2008 in Retrospect” series to reflect upon 2008’s content I was interested in. I learned long ago that New Year resolutions usually mean nothing if you are not going to really keep by them, but I guess to those of you who believe in them, there is no harm making a few. Good luck if you are.
 

2008 was a pretty good year in terms of blogging, socializing and all for me. I learned many things I would not have otherwise, especially about anime and otaku culture, and more importantly, writing as a blogger, which is different from writing for academics. I hope it did help, whether or not it did I guess only someone who has seen my writing from past to present can judge, and I know of no one like that.

What I hope for in 2009 is to quickly finish up my aims at least of quite a lot of academic objectives, as well as try and stay off blogging more often, and building more bonds and knowing more people. For other things, I suppose I should let time run its course. I am growing old. There are priorities I should start thinking about…or should I say, already have started thinking about. Everything else, let it come in time.
 

And finally, I missed this last year, I deserve death. Today is also Shihouin Yoruichi’s birthday. Happy birthday Yoruichi, I have no idea how old you are now, probably a few hundred, but you still look, talk, and fight as great as ever, and still remains my number 1 anime girl. Yes I bet a few of you are surprised to know this lol. Anyway, may you continue to shine in the manga till it ends Yoruichi, and have no fear that you will shine in my heart for a long, long time to come.
