Surprise! Ruri desu~! Yes, Daddy brought me back after 3 months! My last post was at the end of September, so it’s been exactly 3 months since I last wrote. I’m not too sure why Daddy did, but he might be upset at the recent wave of mascots getting attention and me not getting any, since I was even earlier than these new ones. Then again, it doesn’t matter to me; what matters is Daddy still wants me to come back and write, if only 1 or 2 posts per month! I’m more than happy about that already! ^_^

Anyway Daddy posted a lot more this month compared to last, but he also finished his academic course on schedule and he’s almost finishing another. The guest writers this month also did more for the blog, so Daddy can relax more soon I hope! Ado-ne~! I should stop chatting so much, and get on with the post! >_<
 

Blog Tech

The theme for the month was Deus ex December, which according to Daddy means something like “god out of December” in English. I don’t know if that’s the truth, but the language’s something I definitely know nothing about, so I can’t say, hehe. One new guest writer, D, also introduced himself and has already made two posts aside from that, and Daddy and I both hope he’ll continue to contribute more in times to come! ^_^

The next biggest thing’s how Daddy already blogged for a year! Yay! ^_^ It’s quite an achievement too, for me. Too bad I’ve not been around that long. >_< You can see his 1-year blog post here. Not long ago Daddy then decided to finally upgrade Wordpress to version 2.7 and also changed the theme, a change very welcome to most people, according to the votes and comments he’s seen so far. And not long after that, Daddy hit 100K page views! So much to be happy about in the month of December, including Daddy’s 25th birthday! Of course, I wished him happy birthday too! ^_^
 

Girl of the Month

Daddy is still very hentai at times though, like how he named the Girl of the Month an “ero neko”. >_< This month, Blair (a neko just like me!) took the stage, though Daddy barely made her post in time for the end of the year. If you missed her post, do go and read it now. ^_^
 

Figure of the Month

Even more hentai than usual (I think it’s actually the most hentai post he’s made all year) is his Figure of the Month, the limited version of Akuma-san 2 from the original Yamadaya series. Even when she’s dressed with her apron, she still looks naked! ^^” If you missed her NSFW (I’ve no idea what it means, but Daddy just tells me it isn’t something I would like >_<) post, I suggest you not read it. :p

Ado-ne, I almost forgot! >_< Daddy also posted last month’s Figure of the Month this month, because he couldn’t make it in time due to various reasons. String Bikini Girl was featured, also a slightly NSFW post. Again, if you missed it, I suggest you not read it. I’m sorry Daddy, I’m a girl too! >_<
 

Anime

3 posts were done this month on anime, something out of the ordinary, Daddy said. 2 were by D, one on Naruto, the other on his first impressions of space opera anime Tytania upon Daddy’s recommendation. The other was Daddy’s final impression of high-school girl anime Hyakko. Do check them out! At least they’re not hentai. :p
 

Figures

In the Figures area, Daddy first did a mini-review for a very blue figure, Asakura Ryoko bunny version, at a large 1/4 scale by FREEing. He already owns the figure, though the original one used in the review wasn’t his. He also counts as his part of his figure purchases for the month “Takami Rin from Lyrical Lyric by Solid Theater”, and though she hasn’t arrived, Sangou-chan by Yamato, who, according to Daddy, is on her way here.

Daddy also did a double take at his most expensive figure yet, due to release next year, Shiranui Mai from KOF: MIRA, a cold cast 1/6 version by Alpha X Omega. Seriously, as he says, classic females are expensive. >_<

He also took a look at Hobby Complex 06’s figures, and mentioned two limited store exclusives he isn’t really that interested in. Finally, he did a special review yesterday of the limited version of Kokoro from DOAX2 Venus on the Beach. At least, she’s better than those hentai posts he put up. -_-
 

Manga

A new category first made in the previous month, this month saw its first real entry by Littleneko, on GodChild. You can see her review on the series here.
 

Multimedia & Music

Where music’s concerned, I think more posts were done this month than others so far, aside from Songs of the Week. No Songs of the Week were done this month, but Daddy talked about his impressions of “Ano Sora wo, Ike~!” by Nishikiori Ken, the OP to the space opera anime mentioned above, Tytania. Littleneko then says what she felt about “Toki no Ashioto”, and Kona rounded up things by expressing her thoughts on “reason” by KANA, the ED to Casshern Sins and also Chaos;Head’s OP & ED theme songs’ impressions, “F.D.D.” by Itou Kanako and “Super Special” by Seira Kagami respectively. That was difficult for me, having to learn all those anime names. >_<

For multimedia Daddy made Achmed the Dead Terrorist his Christmas greeting with the song “Jingle Bombs”, or rather the Youtube video of Achmed singing it. I loved it too, Achmed’s so funny! ^_^
 

Special Features

Daddy wrote a short post on the Anime Blog Awards, announcing that it’ll begin soon. Unlike this year, where Daddy didn’t participate much as a voter, he wants to recommend quite a few blogs for next year’s categories, having read through quite a lot of them in this year alone. He’s interested in letting those he believes should be recognized more be known via the ABA, so he’s going to do quite a few recommendations. Stay tuned for his picks, I’m sure he’ll write a post about it once nominations begin. ^_^

January ‘08 Preview

And that wraps up December, so here’s what you can look forward to in January ‘09! ^_^

The theme for the month will be Jaded January, and again, I’ve no idea what “jaded” means. Daddy says it’s very appropriate somehow. I wonder at that. ^^”

Daddy’ll be allowing the monthly feature, the Girl of the Month, to be written by one of his guest writers for the first time ever. He says it’s because of his shift in commitment to other aspects of the blog’s categories and essays he wants to write about. I also think it’s because he’s too lazy to keep looking for females in anime that he likes and can write about. >_<

The Figure of the Month’ll get a similar treatment if YuKi-To can’t get his figure on time before a certain date in January, as Daddy’d really like to feature Sangou-chan, he feels she gets too little love.

Where the blog’s concerned, Daddy’s not really going to do much else to it, maybe the addition of a plugin or two. After the major upgrade and theme change this month he feels there’s really no need in the near future to improve on something that’s already good enough, so he’ll work on Team Blue’s blog and also the header images for our blog. ^_^
 

Of course, the delayed winter 2008 anime season preview’ll be up in early January, he’s really late on it and he knows. But don’t worry! The post’s done, and he’s just waiting for a fine time to schedule it for posting. ^_^ He’ll probably also post on his first impressions of the anime series he’ll watch, and he’s quite sure at least one other guest writer’ll do the same too, even blog on a series episodically. So stay tuned for such developments! Daddy’s blog is after all considered an anime blog. He told me to highlight that, I don’t know why .-_-

Where figures’re concerned, Daddy’s also awaiting two more that’re released in January, both expensive ones from what I hear, though not as much as Mai in March…other than that he has no more figure preorders in January. I find that surprising, don’t you? :p He says he might get Gwendolyn by Alter though, I don’t know who that is, all I know is she has wings, something Daddy hasn’t gotten yet in his collection.

Look forward to more music reviews as well from the guest writers, and possibly a cosplay post. Daddy’ll also try and write up an article, or as he prefers to call it, an essay, on education, but he can’t promise anything anymore since his studies now begin to take on a new urgency. That’s nothing compared to what he really wants to do in January though.
 

To deal with how he views 2008, he’s going to write a series of posts titled “2008 in Retrospect”, with each post talking about a particular aspect of 2008, such as anime, figures, seiyuu, and more, and his impressions of them. Each post’ll probably be quite long though, from what I hear, but it’s “better than having to bunch them all up in one post and not being able to write much about each section”, he says. Apparently, Cavalock’s interested in seeing this series of posts, Daddy says he pre-empted him in a comment earlier…what does “pre-empted” mean? Ado-ne, I know too few words! >_<
