For our final Girl of the Month, we take a look at the shounen series, Soul Eater, with one of its rather cute, bubbly, cheerful, and easygoing characters, the cat with too much magical prowess, Blair-chan!

Anime/Manga Character Storyline

Blair is among the first characters to be introduced, starting in the very first chapter of the manga or the first episode if you prefer. She is mistaken for a witch by Soul Eater and Maka Albarn, and she does nothing to clear up that concept by appearing in clothing not unlike a witch’s. Her powers, particularly her love for pumpkins (she even uses them as her chants), do nothing to clear up that misunderstanding as well.

Blair is considered a side character for humor, but she does have quite a bit of power as she demonstrates in the fight with Maka. Soul and Maka only manage to defeat her using a trick, but she returns and reveals that she is actually a cat with very strong magical powers, and not an actual witch. She then follows Soul back as she is interested in him, especially after the way he barges into her toilet while she was bathing, and how he can change into a scythe.
 

Blair is also quite the so-called perverted cat, often indulging Soul in her well-endowed chest, but she also retains her cat form at times. Her magic is attested to in small amounts throughout the show, though in her cat form she also later takes on the Mizune (mouse) sisters, and only changes to human form to fight against their combined human form, though both sides do not use magic, resulting in a “catfight” with many male onlookers in Death City, while the battle rages underneath to save the city from the Kishin’s awakening.

Blair also has a somewhat major role later in foiling time and again the Flying Dutchman’s evil plans at a factory, resulting in much hilarity as she steals his hat and uses it as an excuse, sometimes unintentionally but oftentimes on purpose, to get him through a variety of painful treatments in his very own factory. To date, after that particular funny episode at the factory, Blair has yet to appear again in the manga.
 

Description

Blair, as the title and her actions suggest, is a rather perverse cat, often using her bodily charms to try and charm others, especially Soul whom she is particularly interested in. She is also very easygoing, and like a fashionable girl, given to temptation at times, and is often dressed in either scanty or sexy outfits. She only looks for the fun in life most of the time, but can be quite powerful when angered.
