This is my first time attending Comic Fiesta (CF). It is held in Malaysia, and this year it was held at Sunway Pyramid. I decided to attend CF because my cosplay friends (you will see them later in this post) was going to attend both days but as cosplayers only in day 2. They came all the way from Indonesia. Since I am just nearby in Singapore, why not? :3

A few reasons why I will just be doing a mini coverage post (mini coverage but post is long ^^;):

Planned to do a few CF posts with Kona, but she has to attend camp from today until January 1st, thus unable to blog

I spent only roughly 3-4 hours during day 1 but did spend a much longer time in day 2 (around 8 hours). No point doing day 1 & 2 posts separately.

Did not take much photos because I spent most of my time helping my cosplayer friends. They have big ass armors and big ass swords (you will see them later ^^;)

Post is late as usual, a week has passed since CF. Again, no point covering day 1 & day 2 separately LOL XD

First off, I would like to thank Kona for some of the photos and also Hexlord for giving me permission to use his photos of cosplayers. However I only used the photos of cosplayers that I saw. Hexlord has a lot more awesome photos of cosplayers during CF08 which I missed from these threads, Day 1 & Day 2. For once, most of the photos are from me :) excuse me for my fail photos.

Though it was short, I enjoyed my time in CF08. I met with various squadmates and saw other familiar people such as Chong, Kona, Setsuna-san & Shin from Atarashi Prelude, Hexlord, WiseFreeman, e-jump and Kurogane.

The hall was quite big, and it was quite nicely filled, unlike AFA08 where although the exhibition hall was bigger, there were many empty spaces. The emcees were very entertaining and they followed up very well with the audience and cosplayers. Most of the time though, the emcees were quite crude with dirty jokes inserted here and there; to me, it was harmless fun ^^  If I did not tag along with my cosplayer friends, I would have probably spent more time in CF with Team Blue members like Chong and Kona. But without my cosplayer friends the Malaysian trip would not have been as fun and enjoyable ^^

As you can see, there were not much stage activities in day 1 compared to day 2. That was why my friends and me decided to go off early for day 1.

Above pic is the layout of artist booths which occupied half of the hall, another half was the stage and showcase area which is at Hall 2 of the pic. Layout was also taken from their site. As you can see by the number of different artists above, CF is more of an artworks display event showcasing doujins, posters etc. Saw various familiar artists such as Imaginary Friends Studios and C.D.S. as I walked around CF.

The main thing I notice at CF is the awesome artworks. A lot of the artworks in CF caught my attention, both from the showcase and booths. That is quite incredible considering I am one who does not really care about the world of illustrations, now I think I should :( Lets start off with the pics of some artworks in the showcase. Not sure what artwork competition showcase it is (CF artwork competition 07 & 08?) but they are awesome.

Next, those at the booths. There were still many other great works which I did not take pictures of sorry >.<

Yep, here are my friends, OrochiX (as Siegfried from Soul Calibur IV) & Pinky Lu Xun (as Ashura from RG Veda). They are from the cosplay group, Endiru. They carried their big ass armor all the way from Indonesia to Singapore, then to Malaysia. Kudos to the Endiru team for their passion

Very happy for Pinky as she won Best Cosplayer in Hall (meaning best individual cosplayer regardless or not she registered as a competitior)

No comments for the group cosplay competitions, it was just like any other group cosplay competition with performances decided by the cosplayers. But I like how CF made their individual cosplay competitions. As the solo cosplayers advance from the prelim rounds to the finals, they made the cosplayers play games and they had to accomplish a random task given by the emcee like sing, dance etc. The cosplayers did a great job of displaying their confidence whether or not they accomplished the task. Luckily, my friends did not join the competition, if not they may have to do unexpected and funny tasks ^^; The emcees as well did a great job of following through the solo cosplayers’ perfomances, they cooperated well like acted being pushed away by the force from the jedi cosplayer, lol! XD

If you want a more extensive coverage like competition winners etc. Head down to Chong’s CF posts (Day 1 & Day 2) or Atarashi Prelude’s Day 1 & Day 2. They were around at CF for longer hours than me for both days.

Queen’s Blade Nyx and Rin Tohsaka from Fate/Stay Night

I got the rin as a gift from Pinky, it was one of the prizes that she won from CF and she dumped it to me =P. Not something I want but I am very delighted and fortunate to receive this gift from Endiru! ^^ Saw Nyx at The Figure Mall display at CF. It caught my attention and coincidentally, I saw this rare figure while shopping at a figure store in Times Square. Bought it straight away!

This ends my mini coverage on CF08, hope you guys have an idea what it’s like at CF. Definitely enjoyed my time at CF, too bad I was not able to spend more time at the convention. Let me end with a teaser pic of Nyx, beautiful figure indeed ^^
