And finally, we come to the last part of the EoY ‘08 coverage! I know, it has been almost two weeks since the event, so blame me for being slow. I prefer to not overwhelm people however, with all the pictures in one post, and it is much better for them to slowly read and spread out our own writing so that we can get out more information and allow more people to view and remember what was at the event itself, among other reasons. But now, it is the final part, and this final part involves what I considered to be the best in either cosplay or just plain cuteness at the event. Do remember, this is all in my honest opinion and I am an amateur at best at discerning good cosplay. Rather, as I mentioned before, I prefer to think of it as “this cosplay struck me and I would like people to know why”, and not as “I felt this cosplay was good objectively and I am an authority on it”, which is totally untrue.

Once again I am indebted to the pictures from Blurmage, Hirito and Squee’s camera (which CI used throughout the event and so the bad shots can be credited to him, some of which I could not possibly save at all without some noise, but he was unused to it so the blame cannot be entirely put on him), and this time round as well, Hexlord’s pictures which he gave permission to use from his thread on the event. Also thanks to this particular post by Ahbu at SGCafe for the wonderful picture above and later on when I get to her.

First up is this Shihouin Yoruichi (from Bleach) cosplayer. Akabane confused me early on when he mentioned another Yoruichi cosplayer, of her normal attire, and said she was something “you do not want to see”. I had no idea though that this one was different until we were about ready to leave the event. Screw you, Nut. Anyway I also recognized after the shot taken with her that this Yoruichi is mudman, the same cute Haruhi cosplayer at Day 2 of Cosfest, covered in this post.

Though her cosplay was not exactly up to par with the real Yoruichi, there was effort made in getting Soi Fong’s butterfly marks right on her body, including the costume. Not too bad I would say, and Yoruichi is of course very close to my heart. How could I pass by without a picture?
 

Next up, these two cute schoolgirls were the bane of perhaps 80% of the male population at the event. Many were those who wanted pictures with them and they were very obliging too. I learnt later that they are called Ferlyn and Geraldine (left and right respectively in this photo), and the former is also the owner of Singapore’s only maid cafe, Coscafe. Quite a few were in agreement with me though that Geraldine looked cuter, but this is largely a matter of preference more than anything. A few more of them below, all taken by CI (and the noise showed).
 

When I first spotted them I had been unable to ask them for a picture, so the next time round, what I did was I asked them to go to the graffitti art section nearby, where there was blank space for a background as a photo, and soon many were the cameras snapping away. Of course, being the one that had asked them there, I wanted to get a shot in with them too, but it turns out I was pre-empted by no less than 3 hormonal raging males, before I could get a turn.

CI fumbled a lot with Squee’s camera and took quite a few, sorry girls for the wait at the time and hope you were not annoyed. It was not entirely his fault either. Thanks for this cute photo with me! And I had no idea Geraldine was pointing at me at the time. The first thing that went through my head when I saw this photo was, “Man, I look old.”
 

The second most pleasant surprise at the entire EoY was this wonderful Viletta Nu cosplayer. Pictures do her no justice. I feel shameful for having to ask Hirito for confirmation that this was indeed Viletta, as she is the only girl in the whole of Code Geass that I actually liked. Damn you Ougi for getting her and making her pregnant. Your marriage never existed to me.
 

I had a chat with her after the early shoot thanks to Hirito, and I informed her that I was indeed very happy someone finally decided to cosplay Viletta. This costume was from before she lost her memory I believe, and the contact lenses were a very nice touch indeed. Of course, the chat with her was pleasant too, thank you girl. Here is the shot I took with her, for how could I pass up such a chance?
 

The girl in pink was not part of Shizuka’s team, but I am also not sure if she is indeed from DW, though it is quite likely. From left to right, Zhen Ji, Sun Shangxiang, the girl and Diao Chan.

And finally, the best cosplay for me at the event. No doubt about it, it was Shizuka’s Zhen Ji from Dynasty Warriors 6. Of course, her friends were good too, but I did not manage to get a picture at all it seems of Sun Shangxiang alone, and she was only in one or two pictures here, so, sorry about that. Here are the pictures of the Dynasty Warriors’ girls, one of the two DW teams at the event.

Onward to the next event perhaps, I believe Kona and YuKi-To both plan to cover Comic Fiesta ‘08, which took place in Malaysia over the past weekend, together.
