Holy crap space-time and other aspects’ warps! Chibi Nel Tu from Bleach faces off a Stormtrooper from Star Wars in old film style.
Since YuKi-To appears to be taking slightly longer than expected to return from Malaysia, possibly as a result of the WFM-DC31315 virus contamination, and thus may currently be quarantined in a remote area to prevent the spread of this much feared disease into the locality, I will take over and post on Team Blue at EoY, along with some others who were there and are affiliated or related to Team Blue or the group in general.
You can view the previous three parts of the coverage here, here, and here, along with the coverage of what happened at EoY for me here. All photos in this article are thanks to Blurmage, Squee’s camera (which was lent to CI for use during the event) and Hirito.
The most prominent members of Team Blue at the event were Gordon and Squee, the former who donned the Stormtrooper armor shown in the first picture, and the latter who cosplayed as Hide from X-Japan, a visual kei band. First, as I arrived late, I appear to have missed some epic moments in the Trooper’s harassment adventures (he apparently was harassing kids and scaring them throughout the event), but anyway, here are the salvaged pictures from what I could save.

The trooper poses for a shot.

The trooper attempts to destroy a vending machine using melee tactics…or is he just trying to get a drink?

Apparently, he wanted a drink, for soon help gathered. Needless to say, there were lots of cameras who wanted to capture the Empire’s foray into vending machines as a form of propaganda side business.

The trooper attempts to use old technology, while Malzias looks on.

Security breach detected. Or has the laptop possibly failed? Those who know who Tom is might know why the laptop might have failed though, if you look carefully at the picture.

A trooper from the 1970’s!

The Stormtrooper himself, up close and personal.

A shot of Team Blue and some friends. The one with the red armband is Yumeno, with Zero and then Tom behind him in the picture. Akabane is beside them, Fariz is in brown, I am in foreground beside Fariz, and Malzias hides behind me. Shot taken by Hirito.

A shot of the crowd at the event, I have no idea when this was taken though. It was definitely more crowded than this in the late afternoon.

A separate section was set aside for this professional photo-taking booth it seems. The photography was free, but any pictures taken appeared to be reserved for the booth’s tenders’ use. I have no idea whether a magazine or whatever set this up though, and never asked. The equipment and lighting they had was certainly professional enough, at least to me.

Artwork at the graffitti section.

hide in the flesh, apparently taken with another cosplayer. Squee did a fine job, it appeared, because there were fans that came up to congratulate hide on his birthday (it was also hide’s birthday on that day) and many were the people who wanted a photo with him.

Squee and his girlfriend, who was in gothic lolita fashion.
And that ends this short part of the EoY coverage. Next up, YuKi-To will bring you the coverage on the cosplay of popular series or team cosplay groups that were at the event, before I return in the final part to bring you what I considered to be the best cosplay available at the event.

Was really lamenting on the fact that I can’t make it down for EOY this year due to some personal problems.
After hearing that there won’t be any EOY anymore, I wonder if there will be any other cosplay event that I can attend in the future?
love that panther t-shirt with the blue glowing eyes.
btw can u do a better job at censoring the faces? like a laughing man or something? that looks scary O_O

@phossil -
Wrong guess. Only Yumeno, Malzias, Fariz and I in that picture are from Team Blue. Zero, Tom and Akabane are my gaming side friends.
@Marianto -
SoY in January, and after that I am not sure if there are any possible cosplay events, albeit smaller ones, compared to Streetfest in May thereabouts (and possibly STCC for a second year, in June), before the most popular one happens in July thereabouts, Cosfest.
@Gordon -
Surprisingly, I got it from the zoo lol. It glows in the dark yay. I had no idea it was a panther, until I bought it at the counter and the counter showed “PANTHER”. I was like, “Shit!”
As for censorship, yeah I should do something better. I was testing out different effects in Photoshop lol. Maybe I could get a Ruri picture, but no promises yet.
panther, seriously the censors(I dunno what did you use, eerr..mosaic?) are terrifying…it gives me some goosebumps…..at first I thought those were cosplay..but..no….orz
please use mosaic instead, with large pixels. thx…

lol I agree with gordon & DS, I usually just blur them

I tried looking for it in Photoshop but never found it, that was why I used Ocean Ripple effect. Maybe I should look harder. :p
@YuKi-To -
See above.
The funny part is that you can actually see Gordon’s eyes through his visor.
The funnier part is how he wears his helmet to accomodate the glasses…

He was informing me after I sent him the hi-res pictures that he needed to do something about the visor and the see-through eyes.
