And finally, the last part of the AFA ‘08 coverage, part 2 of the cosplay series! Sorry it took me so long, but Photobucket being a bitch lately, as well as other important stuff to post first, coupled with me going down with some illness, has led to the extreme delay of this post, when it was supposed to be up on Sunday. Anyway, this is the last post regarding AFA.

Once again, thanks to the people who have lent me their cameras and skills, not to mention photos, in the making of the AFA posts – AK, Setsuna-san, Wcloudxkumo, and Squee. A few photos here too are from Raven, and huge thanks to Hexlord for allowing me the use of his pictures in the private photoshoot, which you will read about later.

All opinions regarding the cosplayers are my own and I am an amateur, so please do not take my opinions too heavily. Also, if any cosplayer wishes their picture taken down, please inform me. I doubt if I have your hi-res pictures as well, sorry about that, but for part 2, I can try salvaging them, so you can request them from me if you like. Again, I took none of these pictures.
 

Since the first day, there were Soul Eater cosplayers around, including this chibi Medusa, and Franken Stein. Death the Kid (a reverse trap) was also there, but of the three, Medusa captured the most hearts. Indeed, a loli doing the loli version of Medusa was very fitting. On the second day, the Thompson Sisters showed up, but other than their sexy outfits, were unable to garner as much attention as Medusa did, especially when she did her curtsy pose (which somehow I seem to have no pictures of, I remember asking people to take them, hmm…).
 

And of course, I could not resist the urge to take a picture with chibi Medusa. Shot below.
 

A gothic lolita cosplayer, at least I think so. There seemed to be no real series to her cosplayer. Pretty cute too.
 

In terms of her costume, this cosplayer was pretty good too, she appeared around mid-afternoon on day 1 in this outfit. With her was Gackpoid, but I am not interested in seeing that guy. Thanks to Kaori and Kona for identifying this character as Shi Ryuuki from Saiunkoku Monogatari.

On the second day, she appeared as reverse trap Kuchiki Byakuya from Bleach! Pictures of solely her cosplay I seem to lack, therefore you have to make do with my ugly mug in this following picture I decided to take with her. for there is no bishounen thread/blog without Byakuya
 

Lulu, from Final Fantasy X. She was with a Yuna cosplayer in the same game, as well as a Triggerhappy Yuna from FFX2. Her costume was pretty well done. Far as I know they stayed outside till late afternoon or evening in day 2 before moving in.
 

Sol-Badguy from the Guilty Gear series. This was a pretty decent cosplayer but the cosplayer could use more muscles and some Gunflame FRC, Grand Viper and Volcanic Viper pl0x.
 

Ilya from Fate/Stay Night. The cosplayer, kurohoshi (a mere 14-year-old loli, but still taller than the actual Ilya), stood in front of me when I first found her. I and others were at the stage area in Day 1, resting and stuff, and she went with her friend and stood in front of us for like ten minutes. Recalling that CI likes Ilya, I decided to call him when she first appeared but his fuggen phone was down for some odd reason. After a while I decided to try again, but his phone was still down. So I called Double, whom I thought might be close to him. While asking Double to tell CI to come to the stage area, she started moving away. Awesome.

Later Shin, Setsuna and CI came to the stage area together. “Ilya was here.” “WHAT?” How fail can you guys get, seriously. I pointed them in the right direction and off they went loli-hunting. They found her at the entrance where Setsuna took this picture.
 

The best cosplay of Day 2 undoubtedly goes to Hoihoi-san, a well-known 2D bug killer in Japan. Unfortunately I have no good pictures of her, and almost everyone missed this epic moment in day 2 when EXIA got together with Hoihoi for some pictures, and I was around. I also had a look at her props with Akabane once in Day 1, when “her” friend, who was carrying a large gun, stood next to us. It was very well-made, the gun. She had quite a lot at her arsenal for both days.

By the way the person inside Hoihoi is male. It must have been exceedingly hot and tiring inside, the stuff needed for the cosplay was pretty heavy. Thanks to YuKi-To for this photo.
 

And of course, how can we leave out my favorite cosplayer, Lenneth! On day 1 she appeared as C.C. from Code Geass along with her friend, Kanasai*, as Lelouch. Lots of us were stumped as to whether this was indeed from Code Geass, so I asked her about it later that night. It turns out it was from a DVD cover illustration, which you can look at here. Thanks to Lenneth for the DVD cover scan.

On the second day Lenneth went as Natsume Takashi from Natsume Yuujinchou, with a Nyanko plushie, which I missed. She was outside the whole time helping to look after bags, and I did not walk out far enough to spot her at the entrance to another hall, urgh. I fail. A picture below of her thanks to Hexlord, of her Natsume cosplay.
 

Finally, the highlight of AFA ‘08 for me. On Day 2 I happened to spot two Darker than Black cosplayers, and they were pretty cute too. You hardly see DtB cosplay, so of course I zoomed in for them, and took pictures with them. Later on though I mentioned them to Hexlord, who then found them near the toilet and had to wait for them to finish up. We waited a rather long time before they came out, and with Squee and YuKi-To nearby, we had a small private shoot, and later Hexlord also asked for some personal requests (no hentai thinking now). Here are the results! And yes, it was quite the great feeling to be able to take a photo with Yin. <3

This also ends my cosplay post, as I would like to thank the Yin and Amber cosplayers for their wonderful cooperation, and a good job well done. Amber had been there on day 1 but I missed her. Also, a few personal words at the end in Chinese for them.
