Oh this be awesome. KOF: MIRA is finally getting recognition in the figure circle, and of course, who better to start with (or rather, use) than the very classic female from the series (actually Fatal Fury but who cares?), Shiranui Mai! By the way this was an unplanned for post, if you realize, the past few days the posts have all been rather around the same timing, and that is because I scheduled posts in one shot (I did them all on Tuesday) all the way till tomorrow. But since this is a news post, I have to get around to doing it now.

The unfortunate thing about this figure, despite it being quite lovely, is that it will be a cold cast figure. Obviously, this means a way higher cost, somewhere around 15,800 Yen. So I am hesitating about purchasing her. I know cold cast is a way better material than PVC in the long run, but 15,800 Yen is a lot. Checking up my preorders list, I have one other figure in March…ironically, if you guessed right, she is also Shiranui Mai. Yes, the Hobby Japan exclusive PVC version. A kind soul in Japan is helping me, but for fear of people looking for him secretly for help as well I am keeping his identity a secret until a better time. That figure will cost 6,400 Yen. I have no other figures planned for March at this point, and in February, I only have one other, that of Kanzaki Kaori.

So, as a fan of Mai, I want this figure, so far it looks lovely at least, from the pictures. If I order from Hobby Search too, I can cancel if the final sample looks awry. What do you people think, and are any of you also getting her? Alpha X Omega has been improving their figures of late, and since Alter’s weight is in this one, I am not as hesitant to say no despite Mega House’s presence.

By the way I just found Ryoko Bunny, ironically at the very place where I thought I would not find her, and thanks to malzias for spotting it and Yumeno for informing me she was available at La Tendo (where I failed to check). I reserved one of her and will collect her tomorrow, at a hefty 180 SGD, but it is still better than ordering directly from Japan and stuff. Chinese New Year needs to come sooner.
