Good Smile Company, a well-known figure maker and distributor, has just launched their English website, powered by MiraiGaia, a platform designed and maintained by none other than Danny Choo himself. The Japanese version’s launch will be following soon, but for now, you can glean more details regarding the launch from Danny’s post on it.
The website is still in beta mode, but it already looks pretty clean and any bugs or glitches will be ironed out soon. Danny also hopes to work closely with readers and viewers who go regularly to the English website, so if you find any problems, you can contact him via his GSC email, [ danny -at- goodsmile -dot- jp ].
Now I am pretty pleased with this information. GSC is a great figures distro, especially for the major companies (except Alter), and thus any information regarding releases of figures, for the manufacturers they distro for, usually also comes from them first. So with the launch of this English website, I hope also to see news regarding figure launches that GSC are helping out with. It will greatly facilitate knowing when a new figure is announced, when it is going to be released, whether there are re-releases for older figures, and the like.
GSC, by the way, is already coming along in its PVC manufacturing development area. Have a look at some of their latest products as well, which are of top-notch quality. One of them was featured in June as the Figure of the Month in this very blog, you may take a look at Kuonji Shinra as a recent sample of their great work. I expect to see even better works from them in the future, with their veterancy in this field.
Do support the new English GSC website if you are a fan of figures! There could be no better news for us poor folks who do not understand Japanese (or at least, not enough) and want to know first-hand, where possible, about new figure releases, and figure information, especially from a major distro like GSC.
GSC in English,
Panther
PS: Link to GSC website has been updated as well in my Figures page.

Hey Panther,
Thanks for the mention ^^
No problem, always glad to help other figure collectors. :)
WOOT! This is awesome. Now I can like, buy figurines from GSC themselves onlinr without needing to know moonrunes!
@Panther: Thanx, saw Danny’s post too. Any idea how this will affect existing American-English figure sites for me in the USA?
I’ve usually ordered via ToysLogic.com and they’re pretty good. I guess I might feel bad if their sales drops, lol. But that’s how the market works, right? ^_^
CI: Lol.
Jayman: It will probably make it a whole lot easier for you guys to get the supply/figures directly from the wholesaler/distro itself. This is good for you as the consumer as it actually means that you can skip the extra fees accompanied with local dealers that add an extra price for their services. It also makes you get info first-hand, as I mentioned, faster than your local dealers usually get it.
The market works that way indeed – the one who gets the news out faster and makes things easier on the consumer wins. Quality, as well as speed combined, over quantity.
thanks for the info. By the way, I don’t see the site like an online store or are they planning to make it into one?
They probably are planning to make it one. The potential of such a move is what will kill the competition in more ways than one.
